As part of Carnmore Hurling Club’s ongoing developments, we are respectfully seeking sponsorship for our club Jersey for 2017. To this end we are seeking a sponsorship contribution of €100.00 towards our Jersey Draw. Your company name will then be included in the draw for the jersey sponsor for the year and if successful you could be the Club Main Sponsor for the Year./p>
Mullagh Edge Tight SHL Encounter
Two penalties were the difference as Mullagh edged this game 2.14 to 1.14 after a close and heated encounter. The sides were locked at 1.8 a piece at the break with Ben Murray goaling for Carnmore. Both sides continued to trade scores throughout the second period until a second Mullagh penalty, which was initially saved by Sean Nugent found its way to the net on the rebound to give Mullagh their second win of the campaign./p>
Camogie Club Player Sponsorship 2017
Carnmore Camogie Club are launching a new initiative in conjunction with local businesses which allows players to be sponsored by a business for a sum of fifty euros. This is a fantastic initiative which aims to continue to grow and foster the strong relationships the club has with local business./p>
SHL Game vs Craughwell Abandoned
Carnmore's opening game of the SHL versus Craughwell was abandoned after eighteen minutes due to a serious and very unfortunate injury to a Craughwell player. The game was tied at 0.05 a piece when the injury occurred. We would like to wish him all the best and a speedy recovery./p>
Glynn's Centra Celebrates 25 Years
Congratulations to Glynn's Centra Carnmore who are celebrating their 25 year anniversary this week. Liam and all his team at Glynn's Centra have been fantastic supporters of our club through the years, particularly with their sponsorship of our camogie teams. Carnmore GAA club would like to wihs Liam and his team all the best in the years to come. We are very fortunate to share a great relationship with Glynns and many other local businesses./p>
Carnmore Begin Tough SHC Campaign vs Beagh
Carnmore were the first team drawn into the Senior B Championship on Thursday evening where they were grouped with Beagh, Castlegar, Ardrahan, Tynagh/Abby-Duniry and Clarinbridge in what is considered the tougher of the two Senior B groups. Carnmore will begin their campaign on April 6/7 against Beagh.
Registration Night Friday 10th February
Our Registration Night for 2017 will take place on February 10th in the Carnmore Community Centre from 6.30 - 7.30 for all players and non-playing members of all ages. There will be an opportunity to meet the coaches and order your club gear as well as teas and coffees.
Michael Thornton Memorial 7s
Carnmore Camogie will kick off the 2nd annual Michael Thornton Seven's competition, plenty of craic and good games guaranteed in memory of Michael Thornton. This year's captains are Jenny Davoren, Lorraine Crowe, Yvonne Coen and Sarah Fox.
On Thursday night we launched our Club's Coaching Manual and outlined our Player Pathway which encompasses all ages from u6 to u16. We had a large crowd of 40+ comprised of coaches, parents and current and ex senior players. Our goal is to promote coach development and educate parents to help them become involved.
U14s Honoured For A Championship Win
The Carnmore U14s received their County Medals following their historic campaign which saw them win the club's first A title. Barry Hanley and club presidents Roddy Kenny, Jim Hynes and Tom Lenihan presented the lads with their medals on Friday night last.
New Dates For Senior and U21 Championships
Noel This year the Senior Championship will be brought forward three weeks to commence on April 9th as oppose to the end of April. The U21 Championship has been moved to September with a format yet to be decided. In addition to these competition changes a Junior League which will include teams from all three Junior grades will start in February as will the Senior League which starts on February 11th.
Noel Grealish returned to the top table as Chairman where he will be joined by Mike Moran and Tom Cogley as Treasurer and Secretary respectively. Ronnie Walsh will also return as Senior manager. In 2017 Carnmore will also enter one Junior team into championship as oppose to both Junior A and Junior C.
